Ginger Elaine Jacobs is the CEO and Managing Partner of Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP, a prominent immigration law firm based in San Diego, California. Co-founding the firm in 2004, she has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive immigration services. The firm's office is situated at 1620 Fifth Avenue, Suite 750, San Diego, CA 92101, where it is known for excellence in various immigration matters. Ms. Jacobs earned her Juris Doctor degree with cum laude honors from Harvard Law School in 1998. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts at Duke University in 1995, graduating magna cum laude and earning Phi Beta Kappa honors.
After law school, she began her legal career as a litigator at prestigious firms such as Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Covington & Burling in New York City. In 2001, her commitment to pro bono work was recognized when she received an award from Covington & Burling for her successful representation of a detained asylum seeker. In 2002, Ms. Jacobs relocated to San Diego, where she initially practiced with a sole practitioner before co-founding Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Jacobs frequently conducts presentations and workshops on immigration and nationality law in both English and Spanish. She has played a crucial role in the San Diego DREAMer Assistance Network, helping young immigrants handle the requirements of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Additionally, her pro bono work includes serving as counsel to Alliance San Diego and advising the University of San Diego’s Appellate Law Clinic on immigration law matters. Recognized as a Top Attorney in immigration law by the San Diego Daily Transcript in both 2013 and 2015, Ms. Jacobs continues to be a leading figure in her field.
