About Geraldine Anne
Geraldine Anne Brown combines legal training and business study in a career centered on estate planning, elder law and veterans’ benefits. She earned her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2001 after completing an MBA at Saginaw Valley State University in 1995. The two degrees inform how she approaches both the legal and practical sides of planning for families and individuals.
Brown moved from academic study to practice at a time when elder-law issues were gaining visibility. Early on she pursued additional training in estate planning through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. That certificate program deepened her technical knowledge of wills, trusts and probate procedures and helped shape the types of matters she accepts today.
Her credentials include accreditation with the Veterans Administration, enabling her to assist veterans and their families with benefits and claims. She maintains active memberships in several Michigan-based organizations: the Michigan Forum of Estate Planning Lawyers, the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the State Bar of Michigan sections for Estate Planning and Elder Law. These affiliations keep her connected to peers and the evolving rules that govern elder care and estate administration.
Colleagues describe Brown as steady and methodical. She tends to work through complex family situations and multi-asset estates in a step-by-step manner. That methodical approach carries into client meetings: she emphasizes factual clarity, practical scheduling and paperwork that reflects clients’ intentions. Her background in business also shapes conversations about taxation and asset management as part of an estate plan.
Cases and client files range from straightforward wills to multi-document plans that include powers of attorney, health care directives, and trust instruments. When a client is a veteran, Brown draws on her VA accreditation to coordinate benefits work alongside estate issues. She also handles matters that intersect with elder law, including guardianship and long-term care planning.
Brown continues to practice in Michigan and remains active in both professional circles and continuing legal education. She currently concentrates her practice on estate planning, elder law and veterans’ benefits.
