About Gerald

Gerald Waggoner built the foundation for his legal career in the classroom. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, Real Estate and Finance from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. He went on to graduate from the University of Memphis College of Law in 1989, receiving his J.D.

His undergraduate studies left a clear mark on his approach to law. The combination of business, real estate and finance provided a practical framework for analyzing legal problems. At Memphis, he developed the analytical and advocacy skills that lawyers rely on in and out of the courtroom.

After law school, Waggoner entered practice and spent years developing a steady practice advising clients on matters that intersect commercial life and legal rules. He has handled a range of matters that draw on transactional know-how and an understanding of property and financial issues. He approaches problems by breaking them into their component parts and then explaining options in plain language.

Waggoner’s work has often involved advising business owners, investors and individuals navigating property-related questions. He is comfortable working through contracts, title issues and financial arrangements. That background in business and finance informs both how he evaluates risk and how he discusses trade-offs with clients.

He also provides services to Spanish-speaking clients. That practice strand reflects a practical response to client needs in the communities he serves. He maintains a main office and offers consultations for Spanish-language clients to ensure access to legal advice across language lines.

Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic. He favors careful preparation over headlines. Courtroom moments happen, but most of the work is quieter: negotiation, paperwork, and managing the timeline of a client’s goals.

Outside of client work, he has kept ties to the academic institutions where he trained. He follows developments in business and real estate law and adjusts counsel as markets and rules change. He has stayed involved in matters that require an understanding of both legal doctrine and the practical demands of business life.

As of 2026, Waggoner continues to practice law, serving both English- and Spanish-speaking clients and focusing his practice on legal matters that intersect business, real estate and finance.
