About Gerald P

Gerald P Goulder pursued an academic path that landed him in the law classroom in the early 1970s. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in Columbus in 1971. Four years later he completed his legal studies at Washington University School of Law, taking his J.D. in 1975. Those formative years set the stage for a decades-long legal career.

After law school Mr. Goulder built a practice that spans state lines. He is licensed to practice in Ohio and in North Carolina, and has maintained a steady professional presence in the latter state for many years. He joined the North Carolina Bar Association in 1985 and remains an active member. That long membership reflects a sustained engagement with the legal community in North Carolina.

In the mid-2000s his professional affiliations widened to include a national immigration organization. He became a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) in 2004 and continues that membership today. That association indicates a sustained interest in immigration law issues and access to the technical resources and continuing education that AILA provides its members.

Throughout his career Mr. Goulder has worked in settings that require both litigation and advisory skills. He has handled matters that involve state regulatory frameworks and issues that cross into federal jurisdiction. He has navigated procedural complexity and client counseling in an era of substantial change to immigration and administrative law practice. Colleagues describe him as steady and methodical in how he approaches casework and client matters.

His professional record shows an attorney who has adapted to shifting legal landscapes over more than four decades. He balances courtroom preparedness with the documentation and agency filings that many clients need. He has kept active in bar association circles while maintaining a practice that serves individuals and entities with legal problems tied to residence, status and compliance.

Today Mr. Goulder continues to represent clients in matters arising at the intersection of state and federal law. He remains a member of both the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, maintaining ties to both local and subject-matter professional networks. He currently concentrates his practice on immigration matters.
