About Georgianne M.

Georgianne M. Walker earned her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2001 after completing a Bachelor of Science in economics at Indiana University–South Bend in 1998. She built her academic foundation in the Midwest and returned to the region to practice law.

She joined May Oberfell Lorber in 2000 and has served there as a lawyer and partner. In 2013 she took on a classroom role as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame Law School, teaching law students while maintaining her practice. That mix of classroom and courtroom work has stayed part of her professional life.

Walker is admitted to practice in both Indiana and Michigan and is admitted to several federal districts. Her federal admissions include the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana as well as the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. She appears in state and federal courts across the region.

Her professional memberships reflect the contours of her work. She belongs to the Indiana State Bar Association, the Michigan State Bar Association and the St. Joseph County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and the Transportation Lawyers Association. Those affiliations align with her casework, which often involves civil defense and transportation-related litigation.

In practice she handles litigation for corporate and individual clients, representing defendants in trials and pretrial proceedings. She has experience managing cases from early investigation through trial. Colleagues note that she balances trial preparation with attention to case-level details, and she regularly engages with opposing counsel, experts and courts to resolve contested matters.

Her time teaching at Notre Dame Law School allowed her to bring practical courtroom lessons to students while remaining active in private practice. The dual roles reinforced a steady involvement in legal education and professional development. She also contributes to local bar activities and participates in industry-focused events tied to transportation law.

Walker continues to practice at May Oberfell Lorber, where her work centers on civil defense and transportation law matters. Her current practice focuses on defending clients in state and federal litigation and advising on transportation-related legal issues.
