George Taylor studied political science at The Citadel before earning his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. That combination of undergraduate discipline and legal training laid the groundwork for a career centered in South Carolina courts and practices.
After law school he entered private practice in the state. Over time he took on roles that expanded both his responsibilities and his influence within firms. In 2023 he became a partner at Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A., and during the same year he served as a founding partner of Smith, Born, Leventis, Taylor & Vega, LLC. Those moves placed him in positions where firm management and client representation intersect.
Taylor is licensed to practice in South Carolina and has maintained professional memberships in state legal associations. He has worked on matters brought before state tribunals and has experience handling the kinds of issues that frequently arise for clients doing business or living in South Carolina. His background in political science informs how he evaluates statutory and regulatory questions, while his law school training shaped his approach to litigation and transactional work.
