About Geoffrey G.
Geoffrey G. Gaia earned both his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, completing his B.A. in 1989 and his J.D. in 1994. Those years shaped his entry into the Tennessee legal community. He moved from student life into the practical work of practicing law in a region known for complex courtroom work and active appellate dockets.
Soon after completing law school he established professional ties that have continued for decades. He has held memberships in the Memphis Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association since 1995. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and is also admitted in the Sixth and Eighth U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, which allows him to handle matters that progress beyond trial courts and into federal appellate review.
His practice is anchored at Wolff Ardis, P.C., where he carries a docket that includes state trial matters and federal appellate filings. He handles pleadings, motions and briefs, and represents clients in hearings across trial and appellate courts. The environment at Wolff Ardis has provided a steady base for courtroom appearances and for advancing cases on appeal when those matters require further review.
Work in both state and federal forums marks much of his calendar. He appears in Tennessee trial courts and prepares appellate submissions for the Sixth and Eighth Circuits. That mix requires attention to procedural detail, the ability to distill trial records for appellate review and clear written advocacy. He has maintained membership in local, state and national bar groups while pursuing those tasks.
Colleagues and court records show a pattern of steady practice rather than frequent public publicity. He has not centered his career on media-facing litigation. Instead his record reflects ongoing participation in the everyday business of litigation: filing briefs, arguing motions and moving appeals forward through the federal appellate system when cases warrant that step.
Now in practice at Wolff Ardis, P.C., he continues to handle litigation in Tennessee and appellate matters in the Sixth and Eighth Circuits. His current practice focuses on litigation and appellate work across state and federal venues.
