About Geoffrey D.

Geoffrey D. Petis entered law school after undergraduate studies and earned his J.D. from New England Law | Boston in 2006. He completed his legal training in Boston-area settings and began taking roles that exposed him to both public interest and prosecutorial work early in his career. The law degree provided the credential to pursue courtroom work and client representation.

He worked as a law clerk at McGregor & Associates in 2008. That same year he served as SJC Rule 3:03 counsel for Greater Boston Legal Services, a role that placed him in court representing clients under an appointment system established by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In 2009 he again served as SJC Rule 3:03 counsel, this time for the Suffolk County District Lawyer’s Office. Those positions required courtroom appearances and short-term case handling for clients who needed representation through the rule-appointed process.

Also in 2009 he joined Larson & Larimer, P.C. as an associate lawyer. His early post-graduate years therefore combined public-service assignments and private-firm practice. The mix offered exposure to different procedural settings and client types. It also gave him experience drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and appearing in hearings under varied rules.

Petis is licensed to practice in Colorado. His background in Massachusetts court appointments and his subsequent firm work provide a foundation for practice in state-level matters. He has experience working inside offices that handle appointment-based defense and services for clients who require counsel under court rules.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and steady in managing case dockets. He has navigated both brief term appointments and the longer file management typical of private-practice matters. That range has influenced the way he approaches client intake, pleadings, and courtroom strategy.

Today he is associated with Larson & Larimer, P.C., where he continued his work after joining the firm as an associate. In that setting he handles matters that arise under the Colorado bar jurisdiction and represents clients in state proceedings. His current practice focuses on state-level representation and courtroom advocacy in Colorado.
