About Genevieve
Genevieve Taylor built her legal foundation in Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and later completed her Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. Those years of study set her trajectory toward courtroom work and public defense in the state she would make her professional home.
Her career has included work at Jeffrey Randa and Associates, where she has been part of the firm’s team handling matters in the county courts. That position complemented her community-facing roles and offered a steady platform for litigation practice. She also maintains active membership in the State Bar of Michigan, a sign of ongoing ties to the wider bench and bar.
Taylor’s public service is reflected in leadership and panel roles. She is the president of the Macomb County Circuit Drug Court 501(c)(3), a nonprofit tied to local court-based treatment and rehabilitation programs. In that capacity she oversees fundraising and organizational governance and works with court personnel and service providers to support the program’s operations. She also holds membership on the Macomb County Circuit Court Indigent Defense Panel of Lawyers and Judges, a roster that assigns counsel for defendants who cannot afford private representation.
Those affiliations point to the sorts of matters she handles day to day. Her work intersects with criminal and drug-court proceedings, the provision of court-appointed counsel, and client representation in Macomb County trial settings. Colleagues note that this combination of clinic-oriented leadership and courtroom practice keeps her engaged on both the systemic and individual levels of the court process.
Taylor’s approach to cases is pragmatic. She prepares cases for hearings and trials and coordinates with treatment providers and probation staff when matters involve supervised-release or rehabilitation components. In nonprofit governance she focuses on sustaining services that help return people to stable footing while ensuring court procedures are observed.
She continues to practice in Michigan through her association with Jeffrey Randa and Associates and through her panel work in Macomb County. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense and indigent defense work in Michigan.
