About Gene

Gene Markin graduated from Drexel University School of Law in 2010. He completed his legal education at a time when the profession was adjusting to new demands from clients and courts. The Drexel degree provided the formal grounding he needed. It also marked the start of a professional path that has remained centered in New York.

After law school, Markin gained admission to practice in New York. He established a practice in the state's legal community and joined Stark & Stark. Over time he has handled matters that arise under New York law and has worked on cases and transactions that require familiarity with state procedure and local practice. Colleagues describe him as thorough in his preparation and steady in court.

Markin’s work involves counseling clients and representing them in disputes. He has experience preparing pleadings and participating in litigation. He also advises businesses and individuals on transactional steps and regulatory requirements. His day-to-day practice blends courtroom work and client counseling. He approaches each matter by mapping the legal issues, identifying practical options, and advancing the position his clients need pursued.

Outside of individual matters, Markin keeps current on developments in New York law. He reads decisions, follows changes in procedure and maintains ties with other practitioners. That routine helps him anticipate questions that arise during litigation and transactional planning. It also informs how he prepares witnesses, drafts agreements and presents arguments in court.

At Stark & Stark, Markin works alongside a group of attorneys who handle a variety of legal matters. He contributes to case strategy, document preparation and client meetings. His role requires frequent contact with opposing counsel, court clerks and regulatory staff. That work demands attention to deadlines and an ability to translate complex legal rules into clear options for clients.

Clients and colleagues say he is practical in discussing risks and realistic about likely outcomes. He balances the immediate needs of a case against longer-term implications. That perspective guides how he frames litigation strategy and structures transactions.

He currently practices at Stark & Stark in New York, where he handles a wide range of matters for individuals and businesses.
