About Gbenga
Gbenga Longe built a steady legal career that moves from clerkship to courtroom work. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2010 after completing a B.A. at Bethune-Cookman College in 2005. Those academic years gave him a foundation in legal research and writing, and set the stage for early placements in both public and private settings.
His first substantive legal roles came during law school. In 2006 he worked as a litigation clerk at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. The next year he took a law externship with the NCAA. In 2008 he served as a law clerk at the Indiana Lawyer General s Office. After law school he moved into public service. In 2010 he joined the Cook County State s Lawyer s Office as an Assistant State s Lawyer. In that capacity he handled prosecutions and honed trial skills against a busy docket. The position offered repeated opportunities to try cases and to manage investigations from intake through verdict.
By 2015 he began practicing as a trial lawyer at The Longe Law Office. That step marked a shift from representing the state to representing private clients and pursuing litigation in Illinois courts. His work as a trial lawyer has required courtroom preparation, evidence handling and jury presentation. He has balanced motion practice and negotiation alongside in-court work.
Longe maintains memberships in several bar organizations. He is a current member of the Women s Criminal Defense Bar Association and the Cook County Bar Association. These memberships keep him connected to local practice trends and to peers who litigate in the same courts.
