Kalra is actively involved in community service. He has been a former mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area and has volunteered and served on the board of directors for My Sister’s House and Maitri, both domestic violence shelters in Northern California. Additionally, he was a two-year AmeriCorps National Service Member before attending law school. In 2014, Mr. Kalra was placed on a two-year probation by the California State Bar for failing to comply with Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements. He had reported to the State Bar that he was in compliance when he had only completed 10 of the required 25 hours.
