Gary Stuart Simkins is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in December 1996. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Simkins is a partner at Harting, Simkins & Ryan, LLP, a law firm located in Long Beach, California. He has been practicing law for over 29 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and surrounding counties in Southern California.
Mr. Simkins earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, where he graduated in 1996. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics in 1993. During his time at Southwestern University School of Law, he was actively involved in various student organizations and participated in the school's clinical legal education program.
Mr. Simkins concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and workers' compensation. He represents individuals in matters involving wrongful death, dog bites, motorcycle accidents, slip and fall incidents, and other personal injury claims. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Simkins has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Simkins is an active member of the Long Beach and Los Angeles County Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. He holds membership in the Consumer Attorneys of California. He is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Simkins is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
