Gary L. Conwell earned his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 1978. He entered the legal profession at a time of change in both state and federal courts. That education laid the groundwork for a long career in courtroom work and appellate proceedings.
Over the decades since law school, Conwell has practiced in matters that cross state and federal lines. He is admitted to practice in Kansas and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Those admissions have allowed him to handle a range of filings, from state-level litigation to appeals that raise federal questions.
Conwell’s professional life includes steady involvement in bar organizations. He joined the Topeka Bar Association in 2013 and the Kansas Bar Association in 2015. He added a national affiliation in 2017 when he became a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
