Gary L Borger earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1976. He moved from the academic setting into the practice of law at a time when courts and clients alike were changing fast. Law school trained him in doctrine and analysis. The diploma marked the start of a career centered in New Jersey.
Early in his career he served as a judicial law clerk to the New Jersey Superior Court. That post placed him inside the courthouse and gave him a close view of how judges weigh facts and law. He handled legal research and prepared memoranda used in judicial decision-making. The clerkship also offered an education in courtroom procedure and the practical rhythms of litigation.
After his time on the bench, Borger transitioned to private practice. He joined the firm now known as BorgerMatez, P.A., based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Over the years he has worked on matters that required attention to both legal detail and the practical needs of clients. He has represented clients in state court and in related administrative settings.
