About Gary

Gary Grimm trained at two major public universities in the Midwest and on the West Coast. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1958. He then moved to California and received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1962.

After law school Grimm began a long legal career in California. He entered practice during a period of change in state and federal law. Over the years he worked in courtrooms and in offices, handling the procedural and substantive work that keeps a practice running. He built experience in both contested and advisory settings.

At a point in his career he established the Law Office of Gary Grimm. That step shifted his work toward a solo practice model, where he managed matters from intake through resolution. Running a small firm required him to balance case work, client communication and the administrative tasks of practice.

Grimm is licensed to practice in California. He has spent his professional life operating within that jurisdiction. His practice has involved representation of individuals and small businesses, and it has required familiarity with state rules and local court procedures.

Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic. He pursues outcomes that are legally sound and practically achievable. He places a steady emphasis on preparation, whether for negotiation or litigation. That steadiness has been a through line in his work since the 1960s.

As of 2026 Grimm maintains a solo practice in California under the Law Office of Gary Grimm, concentrating on legal matters that arise in the state.
