About Gary

Gary Giesler earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1964 and completed his law degree at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1967. He entered the legal profession at a time of change in both the courts and the military. Those early years provided a mix of classroom training and real-world pressure.

After law school Giesler served on active duty in the United States Army. In 1967 he was on the general staff at Fort Bliss, Texas. The following year he served in Vietnam as a captain. He returned from active service and transitioned into civilian legal work, bringing the discipline of military service into his approach to practice.

By 1970 Giesler was working in the United States Lawyer's Office for the Central District of California in Los Angeles as an Assistant United States Lawyer. That experience placed him inside the federal courthouse and exposed him to a range of litigation matters in the Central District. In 1974 he moved into private practice as a senior partner at the law firm of Knapp, Marsh, Jones and Doran. Over the next decades his roles expanded to include management and trial responsibilities.

In 2000 he became an executive partner and head of the civil department at Morse, Giesler and Callister, LLP. In that position he led civil litigation efforts and helped direct the department's caseload and strategy. Five years later, in 2005, he opened his own practice and began operating as the owner of the Law Offices of Gary Giesler.

Giesler has maintained professional association membership since 1969. His career spans public service, partnership in established firms, department leadership, and solo practice. He has handled matters in federal and state courts and has experience managing teams of lawyers as well as running a small firm.

Across a legal career that covers decades, Giesler's path shows steady movement from government service into private practice and firm leadership. He has combined courtroom work with office management and client counsel. He currently practices at the Law Offices of Gary Giesler, where his work concentrates on civil litigation.
