About Gary
Gary Gibson studied English at the University of Texas at Austin and completed his undergraduate degree in 1992. He moved on to South Texas College of Law, earning his J.D. in 1996. That combination of an arts background and a law degree laid a simple foundation for a career spent in Texas courtrooms.
After law school Gibson built his practice in San Antonio and the surrounding region. He is listed as a lawyer at Carabin Shaw, where he has handled matters arising under Texas law. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas and is licensed in the state of Texas. Those credentials allow him to appear in state courts across Texas.
Gibson maintains active ties to the local and state legal community. He holds membership in the Bexar County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the San Antonio Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to colleagues and current developments in criminal law and trial practice.
Colleagues and clients describe Gibson as someone who blends straightforward advocacy with attention to legal detail. He has spent years practicing in Texas courts and in that time has managed motions, hearings and trials. His work reflects the everyday demands of criminal defense practice in a busy jurisdiction. He navigates evidentiary issues, argues procedural matters and prepares cases for trial when necessary.
Education remains a touchstone for Gibson. His undergraduate study in English informs how he reads and frames legal narratives. His law school training provided the doctrinal background and procedural skills that he uses day to day. Those elements combine in a practice oriented to court work and client representation rather than academic commentary.
Outside of court filings and hearings, Gibson participates in professional gatherings organized by his bar and association memberships. He attends meetings and contributes to professional conversations in San Antonio and at the state level. He keeps current on changes in criminal law through those contacts and continuing legal education.
He currently practices at Carabin Shaw and focuses on representing clients in criminal defense matters in Texas courts.
