Garrett Sutton is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in both California and Nevada. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1978 and holds bar number 83971. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Sutton is the founder and owner of Sutton Law Center, a law firm based in Reno, Nevada, with additional offices in Minden, Nevada; San Francisco, California; and Jackson, Wyoming. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, assisting clients in asset protection and corporate formation.
Mr. Sutton earned his Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of the Law, University of California, San Francisco, in 1978. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1975. During his time at Berkeley, he developed a strong foundation in business principles, which has been instrumental in his legal career.
Mr. Sutton specializes in business law, focusing on asset protection and corporate formation. He assists entrepreneurs and real estate investors in structuring their businesses to limit liability and protect assets. His practice encompasses various legal stages, including consultations, entity formation, contract drafting, and ongoing business-related legal advice. Throughout his career, Mr. Sutton has been admitted to practice before multiple courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. He has also appeared before the Nevada Supreme Court and the California Court of Appeal. In addition to his private practice, he has served on the Publication Committee of the State Bar of Nevada, contributing to professional articles and publications.
Mr. Sutton is an active member of several professional organizations, including the State Bar of Nevada, the State Bar of California, and the American Bar Association. He serves on the boards of the American Baseball Foundation, based in Birmingham, Alabama, and the Nevada Museum of Art and Sierra Kids Foundation, both based in Reno, Nevada. Mr. Sutton is fluent in English and has authored several books, including "Start Your Own Corporation," "Loopholes of Real Estate," and "Writing Winning Business Plans," which are part of the bestselling Rich Dad, Poor Dad wealth-building book series.
