About Garrett Patrick
Garrett Patrick LaBorde is the founder and managing attorney of Laborde Legal Group, LLC, a multi-state law firm with offices in Pensacola, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana. He is admitted to practice law in both Florida and Louisiana, as well as before various federal courts and agencies. Mr. LaBorde earned his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 2001, focusing on intellectual property, civil law. Environmental law. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1998, where he studied electrical and computer engineering, English, and political science. After law school, Mr.
LaBorde served as a distinguished intern to U.S. District Judge John M. Shaw, then Chief Judge of the Western District of Louisiana. He also worked as a legal intern for the Mississippi Attorney General, which led to his admission to the Mississippi Bar. In Louisiana, Mr. LaBorde established a statewide litigation practice based in Shreveport and later in Lafayette. In 2007, he moved to Florida to join the firm of Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith.
In 2010, he became General Counsel and Principal at Idea Launch Partners, LLC. In 2014, he founded Laborde Legal Group, LLC, focusing on business, technology, intellectual property. Entertainment law. Mr. LaBorde has been active in various professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, where he served as a member and officer in the House of Delegates, the Law Practice Division, and the Young Lawyers Division. He has also been involved with the Louisiana State Bar Association, serving in the House of Delegates, on the Bar Journal Editorial Staff, and on the Practice Assistance Committee. In addition to his legal practice, Mr.
LaBorde has been a frequent lecturer on law practice management and technology for state and local bars, law schools, and national organizations. He has presented seminars and continuing legal education programs for the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, and the Escambia-Santa Rosa (Florida) Bar Association. Mr. LaBorde is married to Jennifer R. LaBorde, a Doctor of Audiology. They have two sons and one daughter and are active members of St. Paul Catholic Church and School.
