About Gabrielle L.
Gabrielle L. Denby built her legal foundation in New England and upstate New York. She earned a B.A. in political science and religion from Mount Holyoke College in 2008, followed by an M.S. in political science and international law and conflict resolution from Syracuse University in 2010. She completed her J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 2013.
Her early work mixed research, policy and hands-on legal placements. As an undergraduate she assisted faculty in the religion department and later served as a teaching assistant at the Maxwell School. She interned in Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s office in 2003. During law school she held internships and clerkships at several offices, including a law clerk role at the Law Office of Marc E. Canner and an internship with Homeowner Options for Massachusetts Elders. She also worked as a law clerk for the Department of Labor Standards and on the investor team at Ceres, gaining exposure to regulatory and transactional matters.
After law school she served as a Judicial Fellow to the Honorable Spencer M. Kagan at the Middlesex Probate and Family Court. That assignment offered direct experience with probate and family court procedures and the day-to-day mechanics of family law litigation. She later joined Foley & MacAdie, P.C. as an associate and in 2015 worked as a contract lawyer with Wilchins Cosentino & Friend LLP.
In 2015 she founded The Denby Law Office, P.C. and serves as its managing partner. Her practice draws on her courtroom experience and prior clerkships. She handles matters that arise in probate and family court and provides counseling on domestic relations, estate-related issues and related civil matters. Her background includes both courtroom work and negotiated resolutions for clients seeking clarity on personal and legal issues.
Denby maintains memberships in several professional groups. She is admitted to the New York State Bar (2017) and belongs to the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts and the Greater Boston Family Law American Inn of Court. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
She practices from The Denby Law Office, P.C., where she represents clients in family law, probate and related civil matters and handles client counseling, negotiation and litigation as needed.
