About Frederick A.

Frederick A. Lurie built his academic foundation at Lake Forest College, where he earned a B.A. in philosophy, sociology and anthropology in 1978. He went on to receive his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1982. Those years laid the groundwork for a legal career centered on construction disputes and litigation.

After law school Mr. Lurie became active in Chicago’s legal community. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and is a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He also holds admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He joined the Chicago Bar Association in 1982 and later added membership in the Illinois State Bar Association in 1988.

He practices under the name Law Offices of Frederick A. Lurie. Over time his work has ranged from counseling clients on contractual issues to representing them in courtroom settings. His federal court admissions and Trial Bar status reflect experience handling cases that proceed beyond initial pleadings and into trial-ready phases.

Much of Mr. Lurie’s professional network centers on construction law. He holds memberships in a series of industry and practitioner groups: the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, the Construction Claims Network, the Construction Law Group, the Construction Lawyer Network, Construction Lawyers Only, and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society Construction Law Section. He also takes part in McGraw Hill construction events. Those affiliations place him alongside lawyers who handle contract disputes, payment claims and claims arising from project delays.

Colleagues and clients have turned to him for matters that often blend technical project facts with legal analysis. He has handled claims involving contract interpretation, delay and disruption, change orders and payment disputes. He has experience litigating in both state and federal courts and in pursuing remedies that include damages and equitable relief when appropriate.

Outside formal memberships, Mr. Lurie remains active in bar-related activities and professional forums. He maintains ties to national and local organizations, including the American Bar Association, which broaden the cross-jurisdictional perspective he brings to construction-related work. He continues to practice from his office in Illinois, where he handles construction law and construction-related litigation.
