About Fred
Fred Queller has built a long career in the civil trial bar that traces back to New York University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 1956 after completing a B.A. at City College of New York in 1954. His legal education set the stage for decades of courtroom work and civic involvement in legal institutions.
Early in his career Queller gained admissions across several jurisdictions, including the federal courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and state bars in New York and Florida. Those credentials have supported an active practice in both trial and appellate forums.
Professionally he is listed as of counsel at Queller, Fisher, Washor, Fuchs & Kool. That role reflects a long tenure in litigation practice while allowing him to remain engaged in case work, arbitrations and mentor junior lawyers. He also serves as an arbitrator for the First Judicial Department of the State of New York, a post that draws on his courtroom experience and judgment.
Queller’s peers have recognized him through memberships and honors in trial-law organizations. He is an advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Those affiliations sit alongside leadership roles in state and local legal groups. He currently serves as president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and president of the New York Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also acts as dean of the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute.
His engagement extends to a number of committees and civic boards. He is a director of the Association of Trial Lawyers of the City of New York and the Metropolitan Women’s Bar Association, governor of the Jewish Trial Lawyers Guild and cochairman of the Lawyers’ Committee on Judicial Screening and its Judicial Screening Committee. He leads the Big Apple Pothole and Sidewalk Protection Corporation as chairman and president. He holds a membership on the American Association for Justice Council of Presidents.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and exacting in committee work. He has balanced trial practice, arbitration duties and organizational leadership across a long career. He continues to practice as of counsel at Queller, Fisher, Washor, Fuchs & Kool, focusing on trial and appellate matters and on judicial screening and arbitration work.
