About Frank
Frank Bartela entered law school after undergraduate work and earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2011. He finished at a time when the legal profession was changing fast. Law school provided him a foundation in legal research and advocacy. It also placed him near courts and clinics that would shape the early years of his practice.
After law school, Bartela became licensed to practice in both Ohio and Illinois. He has maintained active membership in the Ohio State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to local court systems and bar initiatives. They also reflect a practice that crosses state lines and courtrooms.
Bartela’s professional work has included involvement with the Ohio Innocence Project. That membership signals an interest in post-conviction review and issues surrounding wrongful conviction. He has contributed time and effort to matters that require careful case development and factual investigation. That work often involves digging into trial records, locating new evidence and helping to craft supplemental legal arguments.
At the same time, Bartela has worked at Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A., where he has been part of a team handling litigation matters. His day-to-day work balances courtroom appearances, client interviews and written advocacy. He moves between hearings and office research, and spends considerable time preparing briefs and motions when cases demand a detailed factual record.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in court and methodical in preparation. He is known for steady pacing in litigation and for treating file development as a core part of representation. He participates in bar association programs and contributes to the professional community through those memberships. That engagement also provides a way to keep current on procedural changes and case law developments across Ohio and Illinois.
His practice today is rooted at Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A. There he continues to handle litigation and post-conviction matters while remaining involved in bar and innocence-project activities. He currently focuses his practice at Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A., handling litigation and post-conviction issues.
