About Frank A.
Frank A. Urbanic took a nontraditional route into law. He studied business before returning to school for an MBA and eventually a law degree. That mix of business and legal training shaped how he runs a small firm and approaches cases.
Urbanic earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, and later completed an MBA at the University of Oklahoma. He received his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2015. He also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Oklahoma, a credential he has applied to office systems and case workflow.
Before opening his own practice, Urbanic worked inside courtrooms and government offices. In 2013 he served as a judicial intern in the 72nd District Court in Lubbock, Texas. The following year he was a judicial intern for the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and also clerked at the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. Those experiences exposed him to courtroom procedure, case preparation and the daily operations of both trial courts and a prosecutor’s office.
In 2015 he launched The Urbanic Law Office, PLLC. He is listed as owner and has kept the practice small and hands-on. His memberships reflect the work he accepts and the professional circles he maintains: he belongs to the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College of DUI Defense. He also participates in several Oklahoma Bar sections, including Criminal Law, Family Law, General Practice/Solo and Small Firm, and Law Office Management and Technology. Since 2015 he has served as secretary/treasurer for the Oklahoma Bar General Practice/Solo and Small Firm Section.
Urbanic’s background in business and process improvement informs how the office operates. He has focused on bringing efficient case management to a practice that handles criminal defense and related matters. His courtroom internships and time in a county prosecutor’s office give him experience on both sides of criminal proceedings.
Clients, judges and opposing counsel see a lawyer who manages his own firm and handles litigation tasks personally. He maintains memberships in national and state criminal defense organizations and has pursued continuing education tied to DUI and criminal defense. Today Frank A. Urbanic practices from The Urbanic Law Office, PLLC, handling criminal defense, DUI matters and related family and general-practice issues.
