About Francis Anthony

Francis Anthony DiGiacco began his legal path in Southern California. He earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California in 2005 and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2009. Those two institutions bookend a steady ascent through private practice and public service.

He entered private practice shortly after law school as an associate at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP in 2009. The role placed him on a team known for complex civil litigation and mass actions, and it served as his introduction to high-volume, detail-oriented litigation work. He spent the early years of his career developing litigation skills and courtroom experience.

In 2013 he returned to the University of San Diego School of Law as an adjunct professor. In that role he taught law students and added an academic perspective to his practice. Teaching gave him a chance to step back from day-to-day casework and reflect on doctrine and procedure, while staying tied to the evolving legal education scene.

The following year he moved into public service. In 2014 he served as an Assistant United States Lawyer at United States Lawyers Offices. That position broadened his exposure to federal practice and government litigation. The experience complemented his earlier private-sector work and rounded out his litigation background.

After years in both private and public roles, he took on firm leadership. In 2021 he became a managing partner at Hillier DiGiacco LLP. As managing partner he oversees firm operations and participates in key client matters. His management role involves balancing administrative responsibilities with substantive legal work, and it places him at the center of the firm’s decision-making.

Across his career he has combined classroom instruction, government service, and private litigation. He is admitted to practice in California and has maintained ties to the San Diego legal community through teaching and practice. Colleagues describe him as attentive to legal detail and steady under pressure.

He practices out of Hillier DiGiacco LLP and continues to handle litigation and firm matters. He currently concentrates his practice at Hillier DiGiacco LLP.
