About Forrest

Forrest Carlson earned his undergraduate degree in English and Spanish from Seattle University in 2004 and completed his Juris Doctor at Seattle University School of Law in 2008. His academic background combined humanities and language study with professional legal training. The sequence of degrees set the stage for steady participation in the regional legal community.

After law school, Carlson became active in organizations that intersect with consumer protection and access to justice. He has been a member of the William L. Dwyer American Inn of Court since 2007, a sign of early engagement with local bar circles. His membership in the National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel began in 2014 and he joined the board of the Northwest Consumer Law Center in 2017. He also served on the Washington State Supreme Court’s Practice of Law Board Work Group from 2014 to 2015 and was on the board of the Washington State Bar Association Low Bono Section between 2014 and 2019.

Carlson’s association memberships reflect consistent involvement in policy and practitioner groups rather than sporadic participation. Serving on boards and work groups has put him in regular contact with colleagues who work on consumer law, affordable legal services, and the expansion of legal representation for low-income people. Those roles have also required him to engage with rule-making processes and bar initiatives at the state level.

Licensed to practice in Washington, Carlson has combined organizational work with client representation. His public profile centers on matters tied to consumer law and efforts to broaden access to counsel. He has spent years working alongside nonprofit and bar groups while maintaining a practice that interacts with state rules and local court procedures.

He is currently at Assemble Law Group, where he practices in Washington. At the firm he handles consumer law matters and work related to access to counsel, continuing the professional threads that have marked his career to date.
