About Fidel

Fidel Osorio studied law at the University of Puerto Rico - Río Piedras, where he completed his legal education before beginning practice in Puerto Rico. His time at the Río Piedras campus grounded him in Puerto Rican legal institutions and gave him a base for work on migration and civil matters. He stayed local in training and in practice.

After law school, Osorio entered practice in Puerto Rico and established himself in immigration work. He is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico and has concentrated his career on legal issues that affect people who have moved to the island and those born elsewhere who seek legal status here. His work has kept him close to community concerns and the practical problems clients face when dealing with federal immigration processes.

Osorio’s practice covers customary immigration matters encountered by residents of Puerto Rico. He handles family-based petitions, naturalization applications, and forms of relief available to those in removal proceedings. He also assists clients with applications for humanitarian protections, and he represents people in administrative interviews and hearings. The work involves a mix of case preparation, client counseling, and courtroom representation when cases proceed before immigration judges.

He approaches cases with an eye for procedural detail. Immigration law in federal forums requires careful documentation, timely filings, and a clear explanation of factual circumstances. Osorio spends time on client interviews and record review. That groundwork shapes the strategies he pursues in individual matters and the arguments presented in filings and at hearings.

Outside the courtroom, Osorio works with community organizations and service providers that assist immigrant families. He engages in outreach that helps people understand eligibility rules and filing requirements. That side of his work is practical. It aims to reduce barriers to access and to help clients meet deadlines and prepare evidence.

Osorio currently practices at Centro de Servicio Legal al Inmigrante, where he represents individuals and families in immigration-related matters affecting residents of Puerto Rico. He focuses on providing direct legal assistance in family petitions, naturalization, removal defense, and related administrative processes.
