About Evan Stone
Evan Stone Rothfarb earned his J.D. from Cornell University in 2002. His legal education at Cornell provided a foundation in litigation, statutory analysis and client counseling. He left law school as the early 2000s reshaped the practice of law and began building a career in New York.
After completing his degree, Rothfarb entered the New York bar and began practicing in the state. Over the years he has worked on matters that touch on consumer rights and civil disputes. His practice has taken him through contested hearings, negotiated resolutions and routine client counseling. Those years in practice gave him a steady grounding in courtroom procedure as well as the written work that underpins litigation.
He maintains memberships in two professional organizations. Rothfarb is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, a national group of lawyers who represent individual consumers in disputes with creditors and corporations. He also belongs to the New York City Bar Association, where lawyers from many fields gather for continuing legal education and policy discussion.
Rothfarb’s work has included representation of individuals in consumer matters and related civil litigation. He has handled cases that require attention to regulatory detail, careful drafting of pleadings and persistent case management. Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic; he pursues remedies that are achievable and weighs the costs and benefits of litigation for each client.
Outside the courtroom, Rothfarb has contributed to conversations within professional associations about consumer protection law and enforcement trends. His memberships keep him connected to developments in statutes, court rulings and administrative practice that affect consumer claims in New York.
Today he practices in New York and continues to serve clients on consumer-related matters and civil disputes. His current practice centers on consumer advocacy and related civil litigation.
