About Erin
Erin Lane began her professional path at the intersection of politics and law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from San Diego State University in 2003, then continued her legal studies at Western Washington University, receiving her J.D. in 2007.
Her career started immediately after law school. In 2007 she joined the Law Office of Russell Hanf as a lawyer. A year later she moved into a supervisory role as Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Department Supervisor at Michael A. Grassmueck, Inc., where she worked on consumer bankruptcy matters and oversaw case administration. By 2010 she was practicing at Phillips Webster P.L.L.C., and in 2012 she took on the role of Managing Lawyer at Washington Law Group, PLLC.
Lane’s professional memberships trace a steady engagement with both the bar and specialty groups. She has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2010 and participates in its Creditor-Debtor Section. She also belongs to Women Bankruptcy Lawyers and is active in local efforts such as the Downtown Legal Debt Clinic and the Solo Consumer WOMBATS. Those affiliations reflect the steady presence she has maintained in bankruptcy and consumer-debt circles over more than a decade.
Her work history shows repeated involvement in Chapter 7 matters and in creditor-debtor disputes. Early responsibility supervising a Chapter 7 department exposed her to the practical side of consumer filings, estate administration and client intake. Later roles broadened that exposure to include private practice management and the procedural demands of contested creditor issues. Colleagues and clients have noted her familiarity with the mechanics of bankruptcy filings and courtroom procedure.
At Washington Law Group, PLLC she moved into management while continuing to handle client work. Her practice there combines case management with direct representation in consumer bankruptcy and related creditor-debtor litigation. She has also contributed time to clinics that provide low-cost or pro bono debt relief services in the downtown area.
The arc of Lane’s career is steady and practical. Education in political science preceded law school and a series of positions that deepened her experience in bankruptcy law. Today she continues to practice at Washington Law Group, PLLC, focusing on consumer bankruptcy and creditor-debtor matters.
