About Erin Annie

Erin Annie Ruttenber is an attorney at Scott & Matteson Family Law. She practices within the firm’s family law group and works on matters that arise in domestic relations courts.

Her legal training prepared her for the day-to-day realities of family practice. She moved into civil practice soon after finishing that training and has concentrated her work on domestic relations ever since.

Over the course of her career she has handled a mix of case types typical to family law. That includes divorce proceedings, child custody and visitation matters, and support disputes. She has experience drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and presenting contested issues before judges when cases proceed to trial.

Colleagues and clients describe her approach as straightforward. She aims for clear communication. She also prepares for court when negotiations stall. Her files often require both courtroom readiness and attention to the detailed paperwork that family law generates.

She maintains current membership in professional associations that serve lawyers and judges. Those memberships give her access to practice updates, continuing legal education, and forums where family law practitioners discuss procedural developments and case law shifts.

At the firm she works alongside other family law practitioners. The practice combines client counseling, negotiation and litigation. She handles intake interviews, case strategy, and the document exchanges that many family law matters demand. That mix keeps the work varied and requires balancing urgent client needs with longer-term case planning.

Outside of court calendars and client meetings, she keeps up with developments in family law through continuing education and peer networks. These activities influence how she manages cases and how she advises clients about the risks and timelines that often accompany domestic relations disputes.

Erin Ruttenber’s current practice is based at Scott & Matteson Family Law, where she continues to represent clients in family law matters.
