About Erik
Erik Abrahamson began his legal journey after earning a bachelor’s degree from Luther College in 1984 and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1987. He moved quickly from law school into practice and by 1988 was working as a lawyer at Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Car Accident and Injury Lawyers. The early years of his career were grounded in courtroom experience and handling the everyday demands of personal injury litigation.
His work life has centered on the practical work of representing individuals injured in motor vehicle collisions and other accidents. He has spent decades handling claims, preparing pleadings, taking depositions and appearing in court. Those years have given him a steady familiarity with the procedural and evidentiary tasks that shape injury cases. Colleagues and clients have known him for predictable, steady work rather than flash or headline-grabbing litigation.
Abrahamson is licensed to practice in Florida and maintains professional ties to local and national legal groups. He holds memberships in the Clearwater Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in state court practice and to a network of trial lawyers who exchange information about case law, discovery methods and trial strategy.
The firm where he has spent his career, Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Car Accident and Injury Lawyers, is identified by its emphasis on car accident and injury matters. Over time he has handled the full span of typical plaintiff-side tasks: initial client intake, investigation, medical records review, negotiating with insurers and, when cases require it, pursuing litigation. He has worked on matters that involve contested liability, disputed injury causation and settlement negotiations. He approaches cases in a methodical way, relying on established practice and procedural consistency.
Outside the courtroom he has remained rooted in the professional networks of Florida’s legal community. His memberships reflect an ongoing engagement with bar activities and trial-lawyer organizations. He continues to practice in Florida and is based at Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Car Accident and Injury Lawyers. He currently focuses his practice on automobile and personal injury matters at that firm.
