About Erich M.

Erich M. Fabricius began his academic path at North Carolina State University, where he earned a Master of Economics before turning to law at the University of North Carolina School of Law. That combination of training in economics and legal study shapes how he approaches cases. He draws on both disciplines when analyzing client situations and building case strategies.

Early in his career, Fabricius served as a law clerk at the United States Bankruptcy Court in 2009. That position placed him inside the courtroom process and gave him direct exposure to bankruptcy procedure and judicial decision-making. The clerkship provided practical experience that informed his later work for clients and in private practice.

Since 2011 he has been associated with Fabricius & Fabricius PLLC. Over more than a decade at the firm, he has worked on matters in the bankruptcy sphere. His background and court experience inform the advice he gives individuals facing financial distress and businesses managing insolvency issues.

Fabricius maintains professional ties to the bankruptcy community. He has been a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section since 2009. He also joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers in 2011 and retains that membership. Those affiliations connect him to peers who focus on consumer bankruptcy practice and provide access to continuing legal education and practice resources.

Peers and clients see in him a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with economic training. He handles the legal and practical dimensions of bankruptcy filings, relief options and repayment plans. In practice he works on consumer bankruptcy matters, often addressing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases where clients seek relief from overwhelming debt or aim to reorganize obligations.

Outside casework, Fabricius’s dual background allows him to consider both the legal framework and its financial implications. That perspective matters in negotiations with creditors and in developing plans that a court will accept. He practices in North Carolina and applies his courtroom experience and economic training to client problems. His current practice concentrates on consumer bankruptcy matters in North Carolina.
