About Erica R. S.
Erica R. S. Hunt combines decades in practice with a measured, institutional background. She trained at two well-known schools, earning a bachelor’s degree in politics from New York University in 1985 and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1987. Those credentials set the stage for a long legal career in Maryland.
Early on she established roots in the state bar and in the federal circuit that covers it. She is admitted in Maryland and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In 1999 she became associated with Hunt & Suss, LLC, a firm where she has practiced since that year. Over time her professional profile has extended beyond courtroom appearances to include regulatory and transactional experience tied to real estate and title matters.
Hunt holds a certification as an Individual Title Producer from the Maryland Insurance Administration. That credential complements memberships she maintains in several professional organizations. She is a current member of the Maryland State Bar Association. She joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys in 2009 and remains active there. She has also been a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers since 2008. Those affiliations reflect the practical mix of consumer bankruptcy, real estate and title work that threads through her practice.
Her office presence is regional rather than confined to a single downtown address. She operates in multiple Maryland locations, including Upper Marlboro, Camp Springs, Clinton, Oxon Hill, Fort Washington, Largo, Bowie, Capital Heights and Waldorf. That geography supports work that ranges from residential matters to consumer-focused litigation.
Colleagues describe her approach as steady and detail-oriented. Court filings and transactional paperwork are central to her daily work. She handles matters that require both litigation posture and detailed review of title records, insurance forms and bankruptcy filings. The combination of a title producer certification and long-standing NACBA membership informs how she handles cross-disciplinary cases that touch on property, debt relief and insurance.
After more than two decades at Hunt & Suss, LLC, she continues to maintain an active practice in the Maryland legal community. Her current practice centers on consumer bankruptcy, residential real estate issues and title-related insurance matters.
