About Erica

Erica Johnson earned her J.D. from the University of Florida and practices law in the state of Florida. She also holds a Florida educator certificate issued by the Florida Department of Education, a credential that colors how she explains legal issues to clients and colleagues.

Johnson’s involvement in bar and community associations has been steady. She serves as Communications Director for the Volusia Flagler Association of Women Lawyers, and she sits on the Young Lawyers Division Board for the Volusia County Bar Association as a director. She is also a Business Law Fellow of the Florida Bar Business Law Section. Those roles place her in frequent contact with local attorneys, business lawyers and early-career lawyers throughout the region.

Her career path has combined professional practice and organizational participation. At association meetings she manages communications and helps coordinate member initiatives. On the YLD board she works on programs that target younger attorneys and bar engagement. As a Business Law Fellow she participates in programming and study tied to corporate and commercial practice areas. Those activities inform how she organizes client work and how she prioritizes professional development.

At the office level, Johnson is based at Johnson Law Center, LLC. She handles client matters that require attention to Florida statutes, court procedures and administrative rules. Her background in education has proven useful when an issue calls for clear written explanations or training materials for clients or staff. She tends to break complex topics into plain language and to map out steps people can follow.

Colleagues describe her as steady in organizational roles. She moves between administrative duties in bar groups and direct client work. That mix has given her repeated exposure to business law questions, rules governing local practice and the mechanics of bar governance. It also keeps her engaged with lawyers at different stages of practice.

Outside of her formal association duties, Johnson remains active in local legal circles. She attends meetings, contributes to committee efforts and helps maintain channels of communication within the associations she represents. Her work combines practice, bar service and an educator’s approach to explaining law.

She practices at Johnson Law Center, LLC, where her current work addresses matters arising under Florida law.
