Eric William Schmidt is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in both California and Arizona. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2003. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Schmidt is the founder and managing attorney at The Schmidt Law Group PC, a law firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has been practicing law for over 22 years, serving clients throughout Arizona and California.
Mr. Schmidt earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western State College of Law, where he graduated in 1992. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at San Diego State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Law in 1988. During his time at Western State College of Law, he was actively involved in various legal clinics and internships, gaining practical experience in personal injury law.
Mr. Schmidt concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, including cases involving wrongful death, vehicular accidents, serious injury claims, and premises liability. He represents individuals and families who have been injured due to the negligence or wrongful acts of others. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schmidt has handled numerous cases in the Superior Court of Arizona for Maricopa County, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Superior Court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a multi-state personal injury law firm, managing branches in Phoenix and Maricopa County. He has served as the lead trial lawyer in over 20 jury trials and has participated in more than 200 mediations and arbitrations, resulting in favorable outcomes for his clients.
Mr. Schmidt is an active member of the Arizona State Bar and the California State Bar. He is also a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before both the Arizona and California Federal District Courts. Mr. Schmidt is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
