About Eric

Eric Steiner followed a nontraditional path into law. He earned a B.A. in Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College, completing that study in 1998 and later adding a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, conferred in 2006. His academic background blends textual study and legal training, a combination that shaped his early approach to practice and dispute resolution.

After law school Steiner moved into private practice and took on managerial responsibilities as his firm grew. In 2014 he became managing member of Steiner Law Group, LLC. That role put him in charge of the firm’s daily operations while also keeping him involved on the client side. He has balanced administrative duties with casework, dividing time between running a small firm and representing individual clients.

Steiner has pursued additional training beyond his degrees. He earned a Collaborative Training Certification in the Next Generation Divorce process, reflecting an interest in nonadversarial family law methods. He has also been active in professional organizations. He held the treasurer post at the LGBTQ Bar Association of Maryland for 2019–2020, and listed membership-at-large in the Collaborative Professionals of Baltimore for the same years. He was a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute from 2019 to 2020, which signals involvement in bankruptcy law issues alongside his family law credentials.

He is licensed to practice in Maryland and in the District of Columbia. Those jurisdictions frame the geography of his work and the courts where he appears. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in client conversations and meticulous with procedural details. He often brings the collaborative training and bankruptcy exposure to cases that intersect financial and family-law concerns.

Clients who seek collaborative processes, mediation or negotiated settlements will find the credentials that match those needs at Steiner Law Group. At the same time, his professional memberships indicate familiarity with bankruptcy topics and court procedures that can matter in contested divorces and financial disputes. He remains involved in the local bar community and in training initiatives tied to collaborative divorce practices.

He currently concentrates his practice on matters involving collaborative divorce, family law, and bankruptcy-related issues.
