About Eric

Eric Ritigstein is an associate attorney at Boxer & Gerson, LLP, a prominent personal injury law firm based in Oakland, California. Since joining the firm in 2014, he has focused on representing clients who have sustained injuries both on and off the job. His background includes significant experience defending large insurance companies in personal injury cases, a perspective that has proven invaluable in his current role. This unique insight into the defense strategies employed by insurance adjusters and defense attorneys allows him to craft effective legal strategies for his clients. Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2006.

During his time there, he contributed to the McGeorge Law Review, honing his legal writing and analytical skills. Prior to law school, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis, where he developed a strong foundation in critical thinking and argumentation. Additionally, he pursued pre-medical studies at Columbia University, which further enhanced his understanding of medical issues relevant to personal injury cases. Since his admission to the State Bar of California in 2007, Eric has been an active member of several professional associations.

He is involved with the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, and Consumer Attorneys of California. His participation in these organizations demonstrates his commitment to staying informed about developments in the legal field and advocating for the rights of injured individuals. Throughout his career, Eric has achieved notable successes in personal injury litigation. One significant case involved securing a $896,000 jury verdict for a California Highway Patrol officer who was injured in a highway collision. Despite the defendant's final pre-trial offer of $115,000, Eric and his co-counsel effectively countered the defense's argument that the officer was at fault for "lane splitting." The jury ultimately found no fault on the part of the officer, underscoring Eric's skill in navigating complex legal issues.

In addition to his legal practice, Eric has contributed to various legal publications. His work includes an article in Plaintiff magazine and another in Workers’ Compensation Quarterly, showcasing his expertise in personal injury law. He is also a member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, where he has received formal training in trial advocacy. Eric's office is located at Boxer & Gerson, LLP, 300 Frank H — Ogawa Plaza, Suite 500, Oakland, CA 94612. He can be reached by phone at 510-286-2994 or via email at eritigstein@boxerlaw.com.
