About Eric

Eric Ratinoff earned his law degree from the University of California, Davis in 1990. He later attended The Trial Lawyers College in 2004, a step that reinforced his courtroom skills and trial techniques. Those academic experiences shaped a professional path centered on contested civil litigation and jury trials.

Ratinoff began his legal practice in the early 1990s. In 1993 he joined Friedman, Collard, Cutter & Panneton as an associate and later partner. He moved on to become partner at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff in 2002. In 2015 he founded Eric Ratinoff Law Corp, the firm he leads today. Over more than three decades he has worked primarily in California courts, building a practice grounded in courtroom advocacy and client representation.

His professional memberships reflect long-term involvement in groups oriented to trial work and consumer issues. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1992 and joined the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association and Consumer Lawyers of California in 1993. He served as president of the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association in 2006. His engagement with the Consumer Lawyers of California deepened in 2014 when he joined its board. Around the same time he also joined the board of the Brain Injury Association of California, indicating ongoing interest in injury and disability matters. From 2009 to 2014 he served as president of Sierra Forever Families, a local civic organization.

Colleagues describe Ratinoff as a trial lawyer who emphasizes preparation and direct courtroom experience. His attendance at The Trial Lawyers College and long-standing memberships in trial lawyer organizations point to a practice that values jury trial readiness. He has handled a range of civil matters over the years; his affiliations suggest particular involvement in consumer law and cases involving traumatic injury.

Clients and peers see a lawyer who has moved from associate roles to firm leadership and then to founding his own firm. That career arc provided opportunities to try cases, supervise litigation teams and shape firm strategy. He continues to practice in California and maintains the firm he started in 2015. His current practice focuses on civil trial work, including brain injury and consumer protection matters.
