About Eric
Eric Posmantier earned his law degree at Rutgers School of Law–Camden, completing his J.D. in 1997 after beginning studies in 1994. He left law school equipped with the foundational training common to that era: courtroom procedure, state and federal practice, and the intensive writing required of entry-level litigators. The pace of classes and clinics shaped how he approached cases early on. Those formative years set the path for a career practiced across state lines.
He is licensed to practice in both Connecticut and New York. After law school he entered private practice and has spent most of his career working in those two jurisdictions. His work has involved advising clients and appearing in state courts. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and measured in court, preferring thorough legal analysis to rhetorical flourish. He has navigated the differences between the two state systems and adapted his courtroom approach to the expectations of local judges and opposing counsel.
Throughout his career he has handled a range of matters on behalf of individuals and businesses. He prepares pleadings, conducts discovery, manages motion practice, and represents clients at hearings and trials when necessary. He also spends time on transactional and advisory matters, drafting agreements and counseling clients on compliance questions. His practice combines litigation drafting and courtroom experience with client counseling and negotiated resolutions. He has maintained long-term professional relationships in both states and routinely coordinates work when matters cross state lines.
Outside of casework, his career reflects steady professional involvement that began soon after he completed his legal training. He has kept current on changes in state rules and court procedures. He continues to refine his practice through ongoing work and by adapting to evolving legal standards. He currently maintains a practice serving clients in Connecticut and New York.
