Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit from 1992 to 1993. Nelson is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is admitted to practice in several courts. He gained admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 1993 and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin in 1998. In 1999, he became licensed to practice in California.
