About Eric L
Eric L Hargraves moved from a psychology classroom to the courtroom in a steady, deliberate arc. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2002 and later received his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2010. Those academic steps set the stage for a practice shaped by both analytical training and legal study.
Early in his professional life Hargraves secured admission to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and also holds the right to appear before the United States Supreme Court. He joined the Rhode Island Bar Association and the American Bar Association in 2011 and maintains membership in the Rhode Island State Bar. These affiliations have accompanied him through the first decade of his legal career and into the next.
In 2013 Hargraves opened his own firm, founding the Law Office of Eric L. Hargraves. He has run the practice since that year. Running a small firm required him to handle both client-facing matters and the operational side of a business. That experience gave him everyday exposure to the demands of case management, court procedure and client counseling.
Colleagues and court records show a practitioner comfortable in the courtroom and in written advocacy. He has handled matters that required the procedural knowledge necessary for state and federal hearings. His admissions across multiple jurisdictions allow him to file and argue cases in more than one state forum, and his credential to practice before the nation’s high court provides an additional procedural credential.
Clients who have sought out Hargraves have found a lawyer who moves deliberately through litigation steps and administrative deadlines. He approaches case preparation with attention to detail in filings and hearings. He also spends time on direct client communication, explaining options and expected timelines. Those elements have been central to how he runs his practice since establishing the firm.
Outside of active casework Hargraves maintains involvement in the bar organizations that track changes in practice rules and continuing legal education. He continues to hold memberships in the Rhode Island Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His current practice focuses on legal matters handled through his own firm in the jurisdictions where he is admitted to practice.
