About Eric K.

Eric K. Fox blends legal training with a varied academic background. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999, where his studies included estate planning and litigation alongside general practice coursework. Before law school he completed undergraduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1989 with studies in rhetoric, peace and conflict studies, and music.

He moved into practice work after law school and has led his own office for two decades. Since 2003 he has served as the managing lawyer at the Law Office of Eric K. Fox. That role has put him in daily contact with clients and courts, and it has shaped his practical approach to casework and client communication.

Court admissions include the Tennessee state bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Those admissions align with the strands of his practice. His work routinely involves consumer bankruptcy matters, estate planning issues, and litigation that grows out of those areas.

Fox’s professional affiliations reflect the mix of transactional and litigation work in his practice. He has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers since 2008. He joined the American Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association in 2007 and has belonged to the Sumner County Bar Association since 2004. He has also been active in faith-based legal circles; he served as treasurer of the Christian Legal Society Greater Nashville from 2016 to 2017 and remains involved with the group.

Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical in preparing cases and plainspoken when explaining options. He keeps a steady calendar of matters that range from drafting estate documents to representing individuals in bankruptcy proceedings and related contested matters. He handles filings and hearings in federal bankruptcy and district courts, and he works in state court when litigation turns to probate or creditor-debtor disputes.

Over the years Fox has combined courtroom work with the everyday tasks of running a small law office. That combination means he spends time both on case strategy and on the administrative side of practice management. He continues to manage his firm and to take on cases that reflect his experience in consumer bankruptcy, estate planning, and litigation.

He practices at the Law Office of Eric K. Fox, handling consumer bankruptcy, estate planning and related litigation.
