About Eric
Eric Day built his academic foundation on a mix of finance and tax law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2006. He then completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Idaho College of Law in 2013. He followed that with an LL.M. in Taxation from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, awarded in 2014.
His early professional steps took him into the Internal Revenue Service. In 2009 he worked as a tax compliance officer. That role gave him hands-on experience with federal tax administration and enforcement. In 2014 he served as an intern in the Office of Chief Counsel, a post that exposed him to IRS legal processes and the mechanics of tax litigation.
After finishing his LL.M., he moved into private practice and advisory roles. In 2014 he joined Anderson Business Advisors as a tax lawyer. Later he was part of Day & Nance in 2018, continuing work on business and tax matters. He now practices at Day & Associates Business and Tax Advisors where he advises businesses and individuals on tax planning and compliance. He is licensed in Nevada and also admitted to the United States Tax Court. He became a member of the Nevada State Bar in 2014, and his bar status is active. He holds memberships in the Clark County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic in handling tax questions. His background combines administrative experience at the IRS and technical training from a specialized LL.M. program. That blend informs the way he prepares tax opinions, handles audits, and assists clients facing disputes over federal tax liabilities. He works on business tax planning, compliance reviews, and representation before tax authorities. He handles matters for small and mid-size companies as well as individual taxpayers.
He divides his time between advising on tax compliance and counseling on transactional tax matters. He regularly appears in matters before the United States Tax Court when litigation is necessary. At Day & Associates Business and Tax Advisors he manages client matters that intersect accounting, tax filing obligations, and business structure decisions. He now practices at Day & Associates Business and Tax Advisors, concentrating on business and federal tax matters.
