About Eric A.
Eric A. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida in 1995 and returned to UF for graduate study, completing a master’s degree in political science in 2003. His graduate work included a certificate in International Development and Policy Administration. Prior to attending law school he published an article in a book on organizational learning. He went on to law school at Florida International University, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2005 and serving as captain of the FIU trial team during his time there.
Those academic chapters set a tone for a career that blends research and courtroom work. After law school he moved into legal practice. Early in his career he relied on the trial training from FIU while continuing the analytic work he began during his master’s studies. He spent those formative years preparing cases, learning the rhythms of courtroom procedure and refining his approach to evidence and witness preparation.
Morgan’s trial-team background shows up in day-to-day practice. He is experienced in trial preparation and oral advocacy. He has worked on direct and cross-examinations, handled drafting of motions and briefs, and developed strategies for presenting complex factual narratives to judges and juries. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing a witness and purposeful in argument. He favors clear presentation over technical flourishes.
His master’s work in political science and international development provides a different lens. That training informs how he analyzes regulatory issues and institutional behavior. It also shaped earlier published writing on organizational learning. Those strands — practical courtroom skills and analytical research — come together in matters that require both close textual work and an ability to tell a coherent story in court.
Morgan’s trajectory is plain: an English undergraduate education, graduate research in political science, a published piece on organizational learning, and trial leadership at law school. He has moved steadily from academic study to practical lawyering. He currently practices law, concentrating on courtroom litigation.
