About Emily
Emily Weiss completed a broad undergraduate program at the University of South Dakota, earning a B.A. in political science in 2014 and a minor in criminal justice the same year. She then pursued graduate study at Creighton University School of Law, where she earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Science in Government Organization and Leadership in 2017. The combined coursework gave her exposure to legal doctrine, institutional governance, and public-sector management.
Her early legal experience came during law school. In 2015 she served as an extern at Iowa Legal Aid, working on matters that brought her into direct contact with clients who had limited access to legal services. The following year she worked as a legal fellow for the U.S. Senate on Veterans Affairs, a position that involved legislative research and policy work connected to veterans’ programs. Those placements complemented her classroom studies and introduced her to both client-side representation and policymaking at the federal level.
After graduation she moved into private practice and related roles. In 2017 she joined McGinn, Springer & Noethe, PLC as an associate lawyer. The next year she worked as a compliance specialist for Immanuel, where day-to-day responsibilities included interpreting regulatory requirements and helping an organization align internal processes with external standards. Taken together, these roles show experience across legal aid, legislative policy, private practice, and institutional compliance.
Weiss is licensed to practice in Nebraska. Her background spans public and private work, which she uses to address a range of legal and regulatory questions. Colleagues describe her approach to cases as methodical. She tends to balance close attention to legal detail with an awareness of how rules affect people and organizations in practice.
She is currently affiliated with Berry Law Office and spends her time at the firm handling client matters that draw on her varied background. Her work draws on experience gained in both government and nonprofit settings as well as in private practice. The combination of legal training and policy work informs how she evaluates risk, advises clients, and manages compliance issues.
Her current practice centers on civil matters, regulatory compliance, and counseling clients on navigating statutory and administrative requirements.
