About Emily
Emily Ruby built a life in law that began in classrooms and moved quickly into courtrooms. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara and later a J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Those degrees set the foundation for a practice anchored in California’s civil courts.
After law school she joined the California State Bar and has maintained an active membership since 2013. She is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Those admissions have allowed her to handle matters at both the state and federal level.
Her career has included both firm leadership and firm ownership. She is a partner at Greenberg & Ruby, LLP and is the owner of Greenberg and Ruby Injury Lawyers, APC. In those roles she has handled trial preparation, motion practice and client counseling. She has overseen litigation from intake through resolution and served as lead counsel in contested matters.
Ruby’s professional involvement extends beyond her docket. She maintains memberships in several organizations that focus on consumer and plaintiffs’ advocacy. Those include the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Lawyers of San Diego, Consumer Lawyers of California, the California Applicants’ Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Her participation in these groups keeps her connected to developments in litigation strategy and state law.
Her practice centers on personal injury and civil litigation. She handles cases involving injuries, insurance disputes and other claims brought by individuals against businesses and insurers. She frequently manages discovery, negotiates settlements and prepares cases for trial. Her admissions to multiple federal courts have been an asset when matters have federal aspects or diverse jurisdictional elements.
Clients and colleagues describe her work in plain terms: she manages files, argues motions and tries cases. She spends time preparing witnesses and working through complex factual records so that cases are ready for whatever phase comes next. She also mentors newer attorneys in her offices and coordinates with experts when cases require technical analysis.
As of 2026 she maintains offices under the Greenberg and Ruby Injury Lawyers, APC name and continues to represent injured individuals and consumers in California civil courts and selected federal matters. Her current practice concentrates on representing plaintiffs in personal injury and related civil litigation matters.
