About Emilie Kate
Emilie Kate Elliott is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Elliott is a partner at Carmel & Naccasha LLP, a law firm located in San Luis Obispo, California. She has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout the central coast region of California.
Ms. Elliott earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she graduated in 2005. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology in 2000. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University, where she graduated number one in her class in 2010. During her time at USC Gould, she was the production editor of the Review of Law and Women’s Studies Journal and participated in the Post-Conviction Justice Project.
Ms. Elliott concentrates her practice in the areas of intellectual property, employment law, and business law. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving corporate and business transactions, employment law, industrial health and safety, real estate, and land use. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. She is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Throughout her career, Ms. Elliott has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of San Luis Obispo and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She has also appeared before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining Carmel & Naccasha LLP, she worked as a registered nurse in an emergency room in Visalia, California, and as a contract lawyer and associate lawyer in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Ms. Elliott is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys and the California Board of Registered Nursing. She is also a member of the American Bar Association's Health Law Division and the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association. She has served on the board of directors of CASA of San Luis Obispo County and the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, Pilates, meditation, running, snowboarding, and SCUBA diving.
