About Elliot
Elliot Yi completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Lewis & Clark College in 2004. He then went to Willamette University College of Law, where he earned a J.D. in 2008 with a concentration in immigration law. He returned to Willamette for graduate work and completed an LL.M. in transnational law in 2011. His academic path combined social science and legal training, a background that he has carried into his professional work on immigration matters.
After law school and graduate study, Yi became active in Oregon’s legal community. Records show admission to practice at the Oregon Supreme Court in 2012, and he maintains membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association beginning that year. He has also been a member of the Multnomah Bar Association since 2012 and continues that affiliation. Those memberships reflect an ongoing engagement with issues that shape immigration practice and local court procedure.
Early in his career Yi built experience across the procedural and client-facing sides of immigration law. He has represented individuals and families in administrative proceedings and has appeared in state and federal forums on matters that touch immigration status and relief. He has handled documentation and filings on behalf of clients and worked on cases requiring coordination with government agencies. His work has involved both direct client counseling and courtroom advocacy.
