About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Fairbanks-Fletcher arrived at law school carrying a clear interest in numbers and public policy. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 2004, where she also completed a Certificate in Tax Law. Her law school record included the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association Justin Mahoney Memorial Prize and a Medal of Excellence presented by the American Bankruptcy Institute and Albany Law School. Those honors underscore an early engagement with both tax and bankruptcy subjects.

Her undergraduate years prepared her for the technical side of legal work. Fairbanks-Fletcher graduated summa cum laude from Marist College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science. She appeared on the dean’s list and produced a research project titled "An International Investigation of Depreciation Expense and Other Accruals as Predictors of Future Cash Flows." She also received recognition from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants during her time at Marist.

Fairbanks-Fletcher began her academic career at Dutchess Community College, where she completed an Associate of Science in 1999 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She enrolled in the Mathematics (Statistics) Honors Program, served as a peer tutor in macroeconomics, and pursued an independent study in English. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and completed an honors project on the music business titled "Pursuit of Happiness: Conflicting Visions and Values in the Music Business."

After law school she became licensed to practice in New York. Her educational record — the tax certificate and bankruptcy prizes among it — points to an attorney comfortable at the intersection of complex financial issues and legal procedure. Fairbanks-Fletcher approaches cases with an emphasis on careful analysis and technical accuracy. She draws on training in accounting and statistics when evaluating financial records and legal claims.

Her career has included work that ties those strands together. She has handled matters that require both tax law knowledge and familiarity with bankruptcy principles. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical; clients have relied on her to explain intricate matters in straightforward terms.

As of 2026 Fairbanks-Fletcher practices in New York, where she applies her tax law credential from Albany Law School and her law school experience in bankruptcy to client matters. She currently concentrates her practice on tax and bankruptcy-related matters.
